The statement

Salonfeed makes social media material for beauty businesses out of rooms, tools, materials, opening information, cleaning routines and atmosphere. That is the entire scope. The paragraphs below spell out the consequences of that scope, one at a time, so there is no ambiguity about what you are signing up for.

Not a source of medical or health information

Salonfeed does not provide medical, clinical, dermatological, pharmaceutical or health information of any kind. It does not assess skin. It does not read photographs of people to say anything about their condition. It does not suggest what anyone should have done to them, how often, or in what order. It makes no statement about what any treatment achieves, how long recovery takes, who a treatment is suitable for, or what any ingredient does.

If you need information of that kind, get it from a qualified professional or a recognised health authority in your own country. Do not get it here, and do not put it into material you make here.

Not affiliated with any clinic or practitioner

Salonfeed is a software product. It is not a clinic, it is not a practice, and it is not connected to, endorsed by, or operating on behalf of any clinic, practice, practitioner, prescriber or professional body. No clinician has reviewed the material this tool produces and none is standing behind it.

Nothing on this site should be read as a recommendation of any practitioner, any premises, any product or any brand.

Not a place for images of people

Salonfeed does not generate images of people and does not accept them. There are no faces, no bodies, no hands, no skin and no portraits in anything it produces, and photographs you add are examined in your own browser and refused before upload if a person appears in them.

This is not squeamishness. A photograph of an identifiable person attached to a beauty service can reveal that this person received that kind of care, which is a more sensitive piece of information than an ordinary snapshot. Keeping it out of the system entirely is safer for your clients than promising to look after it well.

Not a way to advertise a prescription medicine

Advertising a prescription-only medicine to the public is prohibited in the United Kingdom under the Human Medicines Regulations 2012, and comparable prohibitions apply in most of the places social media posts are seen. A caption naming such a medicine is an advertisement from the moment it is published, whoever wrote it.

Salonfeed maintains a blocklist of prescription medicine names — brand names, generic names, common shorthand and frequent misspellings — and checks it at five points: what you type, the week that is drafted for you, the brief sent to the image model, the text you compose over an image, and the filename of anything you export. When it fires, it says so and explains why rather than failing quietly.

Not a substitute for your own judgement

You remain responsible for everything you publish. Salonfeed reduces the chance of a particular set of mistakes; it does not, and cannot, make you compliant with the advertising rules, professional standards or platform policies that apply to your own business in your own country. Read what you post before you post it.

What it is

Salonfeed is a way to have a week of decent-looking, honest, low-risk social material ready in ten minutes instead of half a day, made out of the things in your own business that are genuinely yours to show.
